Digital Leaders at Miles Coverdale Primary School
Our team of Digital Leaders are a group of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who have an interest in all things Computing! They applied for the role of Digital Leader by completing an application form and having an interview with a Senior Leader at Miles Coverdale. The Digital Leaders are all trained by Miss Montero and Mr Reed, Computing Team. The main aim of our Digital Leaders is to inspire young people to encourage others to use technology in a positive way in the school or local community.
What have we done?
The Digital Leaders led 2 whole-school assemblies on 'Staying Safe Online' in February 2022. They engaged the school community in meaningful discussions around exploring respect and meaningful relationships online as part of Safer Internet Day.
Small groups of Digital Leaders have supported Computing Lessons, helping children to access technology and meet Learning Objectives, supporting teachers.
In Summer 2022, the Digital Leaders delivered circle time sessions in all classes on 'Managing Online Information', they expertly answered questions from their peers and helped to develop their knowledge of how to stay safe online.
In June 2022 the Digital Leaders attended coding workshops at LegoLand Windsor!
What's next?
In Autumn 2022, Miss Montero and Mr Reed will be advertising for new Digital Leaders - why not get involved?
