Digital Leaders at Miles Coverdale Primary School

Our team of Digital Leaders are a group of KS2 pupils who have an interest in all things Computing! They applied for the role of Digital Leader by completing an application form and having an interview with a Miss Davis, our Computing Lead at Miles Coverdale. The Digital Leaders are all trained by Miss Davis. The main aim of our Digital Leaders is to inspire young people to encourage others to use technology in a positive way in the school or local community.

What have we done?

Our Digital Leaders were appointed to their new role in January 2025 and we have chosen 6 enthusiastic students who have an in depth understanding of digital safety. So far this year, the Digital Leaders have delivered an assembly to the whole school on Safer Internet Day in February! They outlined the importance of keeping an eye out for scams online and provided helpful tips on what to do if you come across them.

The Digital Leaders have been taking care of our computing equipment in school. This year, we have a brand new set of school iPads - enough for a whole class to use! Every week, they check the computing suite and the iPads to make sure that the space and resources are being used safely and correctly. If there are any issues with any of the iPads, the Digital Leaders inform Miss Davis who can make sure that these issues get resolved.

What's next?

Over the next year, the Digital Leaders will be cascading their knowledge of Digital Safety to the younger year groups as well as continuing to oversee the use of our current resources! Watch this space ðŸ˜ƒ
