Magic Breakfast at Miles Coverdale
What is the magic breakfast?
Magic Breakfast is a charity organisation founded to help combat hunger in children in school. They receive charity funding and are now working with local authorities to make sure every child gets a breakfast. The charity provide our school with bagels, crumpets and bread so that we can be sure we have plenty of food to go around.
How does it work at Miles Coverdale
At our school we chose the Grab & Go option. Each morning the breakfast club staff will prepare toasted bagels, toasted crumpets and warm toast and make it available in the school car park from 8.40. Children pick their preferred snack for the morning and can eat it whilst they are lining up to go in, or in the playground with their friends. There is no cost at all to parents.
Is this different to the other breakfast club you run?
Yes it is. Our paid for service runs from 08:00 until 08:45. Children can choose from a variety of hot foods including toast, waffles, bagels, toasted sandwich or porridge; or they can opt for a cereal. They have time to play with other children at breakfast club or they can read, do homework or simply have some quiet time before their day.
