World Book Day 2025

How did Miles Coverdale celebrate?
World Book Day was a magical celebration at our school this year, filled with creativity, joy, and a love for reading. From the moment students stepped onto the school grounds, excitement filled the air as they proudly showcased their costumes inspired by their favourite book characters.
Teachers shared excerpts from beloved books to their class, igniting enthusiasm among the students. "I loved hearing the stories—it made me want to read more!" said a Year 4 student.
One of the highlights of the day was the book sale, where students had the opportunity to learn about new stories. "It was so fun to find a new book to read" shared a child from Year 2.
In the classrooms, children participated in a variety of book-themed activities, from designing book covers to writing alternate endings for their favourite stories. "I liked imagining what would happen next in my book—it made me feel like a real author!" exclaimed a Year 3 student.
More excitement!
The excitement reached its peak with the grand storytelling session, where teachers swapped classes and read aloud to captivated audiences. "Listening to stories is the best because they take you on adventures in your mind!" said a child from Year 1.
The day concluded with a costume parade, where students proudly displayed their creative outfits, from wizards and detectives to talking animals and fairytale princesses. "I felt like I was really in my book today!" beamed a child from Class P.
World Book Day was truly a celebration of imagination and storytelling, leaving everyone inspired to keep turning the pages of new adventures every day.
